How to Ensure Compatibility with Your Fulfillment Platform

We would recommend reaching out to your WMS / 3PL POC to ensure the proper configurations in their platform.

As an added check, we'd also recommend placing test orders, which we walk through below.

1. TryNow orders have Authorized and Partially Paid status. Ensure that your WMS platform will ingest these for fulfillment. (All TryNow orders also have a TryNow tag if helpful).
2. Ensure that your WMS will not fulfill canceled TryNow orders. TryNow orders with insufficient funds will be canceled automatically by TryNow's system typically within one minute.
3. Ensure that your WMS will not capture payment on any TryNow orders. No need, as TryNow handles payment capture automatically.

Make sure TryNow orders will get fulfilled by your WMS

Your WMS is likely currently set up to handle Paid orders. You will want to ensure that your WMS is pulling in Authorized and Partially Paid order statuses.

Test both a TryNow-only order and a mixed cart (TryNow + Buy Now items):

Steps:

1. In your test theme, place a TryNow-only order.
2. Confirm the order shows up in Shopify with a payment status of Authorized.
3. Check your warehouse system (WMS) to ensure the order is pulled in for fulfillment.
4. Fulfill the order manually and confirm that no payment is captured.
5. Repeat steps 1–4 with a mixed cart. These orders typically appear as Partially Paid status.

If you encounter any issues, we recommend reaching out to your WMS support team or account manager to ensure your settings are configured properly.

You can also configure your WMS to identify TryNow orders using the "TryNow" tag.

Make sure no other system captures payment prematurely

TryNow handles payment capture automatically after the trial. You want to ensure no other tools interfere (Examples of tools that may prematurely capture the order: Shopify Flows, ShipHero, WMS platform settings that capture payment upon fulfillment, and fraud detection apps).

Steps:

1. Check if any of your systems (e.g. Shopify Flow, WMS, fraud tools) are set to automatically capture payment.
2. Place a TryNow test order and manually fulfill it.
3. Confirm that no payment is captured during fulfillment.
