Ensure Operational Checks
Ensure that TryNow orders get pulled in for fulfillment
When TryNow orders are placed, they have either of the following payment statuses:
- Authorized — if all items in the cart are TryNow
- Partially paid — if order is a Mixed Cart and includes Buy Now items
You will want to ensure that your Warehouse Management System (WMS) is pulling in these order statuses. Your WMS is likely set up to handle Paid orders. Ensure that it will also pull in “Authorized” and “Partially Paid” orders, since shoppers will not pay until after the trials end. Another way they could pull in TryNow orders is through order tags, since our system automatically adds the tag “TryNow” to all TryNow orders.
Ensure that canceled TryNow orders do not get fulfilled
Shopify allows orders with an invalid authorization (ex: insufficient funds) to be placed, so TryNow immediately and automatically cancels the order to minimize fulfillment risk. Make sure that your warehouse holds fulfillment for cancelled orders. This is highly important as it ensures you don't lose funds by accidentally fulfilling a cancelled order.
Ensure that no other system or app will capture payment on TryNow orders
TryNow orders should be left in an authorized state throughout the shopper's trial. Check to make sure that you do not have flows or systems that would capture payment on TryNow orders (for example, Shopify Flows, WMS platform settings that capture payment upon fulfillment, fraud detection apps, etc.).
- You can go through your regular buy now orders and see if any apps or flows are responsible for capturing payment.
- You can place a test TryNow order. Test fulfill it and see if any system captures payment.
